December Wine Spotlight: Dossier Wine Collective - 2022 - Syrah & Cabernet

December started for me with a wine friend in from out of town, so we had to hit up Woodinville for some wine. Boy did we!

One of the standouts we hit up was Dossier Wine Collective, they are a Walla Walla winery that tasting rooms on both sides of the state. I love this because I can enjoy a nice Walla Walla experience in Woodinville in the winter without dealing with the pass or wintery (aka snowy) conditions. I came to find Dossier from someone I befriended on my first trip to Walla Walla, Brandon who is now the GM of the Dossier Wine Collective. We had such a great time in the tasting room catching up, taking wine photos all while we enjoyed taste after taste of wines in their lineup. I know some folks reading this are looking for actual tasting notes, but I have noticed that when I am enjoying my time in the tasting room especially with friends that I take notes on the experience like "great cab & delicious Syrah, cool vibe" I know I know I will work harder to pull in the notes of fruit taste and the smell I first put the glass up to my nose after a good swirl. Unfortunately, this time, I was gossiping with a friend who I hadn't wine tasted with since Napa earlier in the year. I can tell you that these are wines you pair with the big family dinners or celebrations as they will be a crowd pleaser for folks who enjoy a big, beautiful wine with their meals.

I personally was a fan of their Flagship Syrah & Cabernet I had enjoyed the 2021 previously at a wine event and got to try their 2022 release in December. They did not disappoint and were even more elevated by the cool vibe in the tasting room. The holiday décor and the Harry Potter winter scene on the big screen were so inviting. We had a great time going through the Dossier line up and because I know Brandon we even got a taste of the not poured for all who come in, the Reserve Halo 2021 Cabernet and WHOA it was delicious!

These wines all felt like a warm hug I got to enjoy with a friend. If you are a fan of Syrah and/or Cabernet like me this is a must-visit spot you should have on your Washington Wine tasting list regardless of whether you decide to play in Walla Walla or Woodinville you will not be disappointed by these wines.
